Sutra Photo's Vision

As a client, I owe to you the utmost thanks in allowing me into your life and giving me the gift of photographing the people most special to you. Before you decide on a photographer it's important that you make sure that their artistic vision matches your own or is something you would want adorning your walls and photo albums.

My own vision tends to be more of a dreamy approach. I prefer muted colors and candid shots as opposed to more studio-style photography. This does not mean I don't do the occasional bright and colorful edit, I love them too! I try to take a picture where the moment takes me. I will sometimes do multiple edits of a single picture for you to choose from.

Most of the time, I will not pose you or your child. Instead I prefer to stay back as an observer and capture moments. This does not mean I won't interact with your family, it simply means I don't tend to interject myself too much. Because of this, it's up to you create the mood and atmosphere you want for your photo session.

If you are considering Sutra Photography for your family, please have a look around and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Session Specifics

When a session is scheduled I ask that you read the following to ensure a smooth and happy shoot for everyone.

Attire:

For the best pictures, you and your family should wear brightly colored clothing. Coordinating colors can make a picture more visually interesting and striking to the eye.

Writing on clothing such as logos or sayings can detract from the overall feel and appearance of a photo so please keep that in mind when choosing your wardrobe.

Patterns, such as stripes and polka dots can be adorable for little ones but can be overwhelming on adults.

You may bring several changes of clothes for your session. I love changing things up! Just remember that because I don't have a studio, you'll have to find somewhere to change.

Props:

At this time, I do not provide props (items used in photos to pose with or wear) for clients. If your child has a special stuffed animal or a tutu (or anything else) that they would like to wear, I encourage you to bring it with you.

Cancellation Policy:

Should you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I completely understand. I ask that you give me at least 5 days notice so that I may schedule someone else in your place. Sutra Photo is run only by me and my time is very limited.

I know that things can up closer to the day and if that should happen, I appreciate contact as soon as possible.
